Solar activity report

Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 04-2100Z to 05-2100Z

Solar activity was very low. No significant flares were observed during the past 24 hours. The visible solar disk is spotless.

Solar activity is expected to be very low.
IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 04-2100Z to 05-2100Z
The geomagnetic field was quiet. Solar wind observations from the ACE spacecraft indicate the onset of a co-rotating interaction region at around 06/0530Z. Solar wind velocity and density increased slightly with fluctuations in the IMF Bt and Bz.
IIB. Geophysical Activity Forecast
The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet to unsettled, with a slight chance for isolated active conditions, for day one (06 December) due to a coronal hole high speed stream. Conditions are expected to be predominately quiet for days two and three (07-08 December).
