Solar activity was low and is expected to remain so in the coming 24 hours. NOAA AR 2349 and NOAA AR 2353 retain the possibility for C-class flaring. The evolution of a newly emerging, dynamic but small, active region near the solar East limb has to be followed up. Geomagnetic activity has been quiet and is expected to remains so in the coming 24 hours. A sector boundary crossing of the interplanetary magnetic field was observed yesterday May 23 around 17:30. No CME arrival is expected in the coming days. A small coronal hole is approaching the solar disc center and could eventually result in enhanced geomagnetic activity from May 28 onwards.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 057, based on 16 stations.
