Solar activity has been very low (No C-class flares in past 48h) and it's expected to remain so. C-class flares are possible. The arrival a high speed stream (and most likely an ICME before) caused a geomagnetic storm that started in the evening of March 6 and it's still ongoing. Kp reached 8 and K at Dourbes reached 6. The source of the ICME is not clear, it can be related to a filament eruption from the east limb on March 1 (leading to a 115 degree wide CME, first seen by LASCO C2 at 08:24 UT). Geomagnetic conditions are unsettled to active at present, isolated active periods can be expected today and quiet to unsettled conditions tomorrow.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 073, based on 16 stations.
