Solar activity is very low, flaring remains below the C-class level. The situation is not expected to change. A very faint full halo CME was seen leaving the sun at 23:24 UT on April 24 (LASCO-C2), this event is backsided and will not affect the Earth. A second, also faint, full halo CME was observed at 05:12 UT, this event originated from the same active region on the back of the Sun, it will not affect the Earth either. Geomagnetic conditions have ranged from quiet to active in past 24 h due to the influence of a high speed solar wind stream. Its effect is fading now, and mostly unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 048, based on 12 stations.
