Solar activity once more was very low. New beta region NOAA AR 2552 is the only sunspot region on the frontside of the Sun and produced a B2.3 flare peaking around 4:16 UT on June 8. The solar activity is expected to remain very low (no C flaring) for the next 24 hours. During the past 24 hours, ACE solar wind speed varied between about 400 and 470 km/s. Meanwhile, the magnitude of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) varied between 1 and 8 nT. During the past 24 hours, geomagnetic conditions have been quiet to unsettled (K Dourbes between 2 and 3; NOAA Kp between 1 and 3). Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic levels (K Dourbes < 4) are expected on June 8, 9 and 10.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 016, based on 24 stations.
