Solar activity remains to be very low, with no flares reported. We do not expect flaring activity in the coming hours. No Earth directed CMEs were observed in the coronagraph images. The solar protons continue to be at the background level.
The solar wind speed is about 300 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 5 nT. The increase of the solar wind speed, associated with equatorial coronal hole which reached central meridian on April 16 might be expected tomorrow. The arrival of the fast solar wind could induced active geomagnetic conditions. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet and we expect them to stay so in the coming hours.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 22 stations.
