Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours solar activity has been low. No significant flares have been recorded. A recurrent Active Region (AR) has just rotated onto the East limb, and has the potential to produce flaring activity. The greater than 10MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. No Earth directed CMEs were detected. Solar activity is expected to remain low over the next 24 hours. The solar wind speed has fluctuated between 450 and 500 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has fluctuated around 5 nT. The Bz component has fluctuated between -2 and +2 nT. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 0-2 (NOAA) and local K index 1-3 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. The small region of patchy coronal hole located at central latitudes has the potential to enhance solar wind speeds and geomagnetic activity marginally. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 21 stations.
