Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours solar activity has been low. Only B-class flares - coming from the recurrent Active Region rotating onto the East limb - have been recorded. The greater than 10MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. No Earth directed CMEs were detected. Solar activity is expected to remain low over the next 24 hours with some potential for low flaring activity. The solar wind speed has gradually decreased from 500 till 450 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has fluctuated around 4.5 nT. The Bz component has fluctuated between -2 and +3 nT. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 0-2 (NOAA) and local K index 1-3 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet to unsettled levels today, with some chance for an isolated period of active conditions due to influence from multiple disappearing solar filaments from 5 July.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 26 stations.
