Bulletin

Solar activity was very low with X-ray flux below B level throughout the period. The only active region on disk (NOAA AR 2721) produced one A3.5 flare peaking at 12.53 UT yesterday. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed. The greater than 10MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels. Solar wind speed increased from about 370 to about 600 km/s during the past 24 hours (DSCOVR) due to the influence of a co-rotating intercation region followed by the influence of a positive polarity coronal hole high speed stream. Due to the strong negative Bz varied between -13 and +11 nT geomagnetic conditions reached moderated storm level Kp index = 6 during 03-09 UT today and minor storm level locally at Dourbes (K = 5) during the same time interval. Geomagnetic activity is expected to continue mostly at the minor storm level today and tomorrow.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 015, based on 17 stations.
