Bulletin

The solar activity is low, and there were no flares reported during last 24 hours. New sunspot group was reported by Catania today, numbered as Catania sunspot group 96. However, as this sunspot group is presently very simple, the probability for the C-class flares in the coming hours remains to be low (less than 5 percent). The coronagraph images from last 24 hours do not show signatures of the possibly Earth directed CME. The solar protons remain to be at the background level.

The solar wind speed continues to decrease and it presently amounts about 440 km/s, while the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude stays to be around 4 nT. The equatorial coronal hole has reached the central meridian this morning, and the associated fast solar wind might reach the Earth on September 22. The geomagnetic conditions were quiet and we expect they will stay so in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 24 stations.
