Bulletin

The solar activity has been quiet over the past 24 hours. The sun is currently spotless and the X-ray flux remained below B-level. Solar activity is expected to remain at low levels for the next 24 hours.

No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CME) were observed over the last 24 hours in the available coronagraph imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain at low levels.

Earth is currently into the slow solar wind regime: The wind speed ranged between 340 km/s and 380 km/s, the total interplanetary magnetic field was below 5 nT, and the Bz component varied between -4 nT and +3 nT. The solar wind parameters may slightly get enhanced due to the effect of a southern coronal hole of negative polarity that was facing Earth on August 18 in about two days.

Quiet geomagnetic conditions were observed over the past 24 hours, and is expected to remain for the next period.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 22 stations.
