Bulletin

Solar activity was at very low levels. The Sun was spotless. No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CME) were observed during the period. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values.

Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.

The solar wind speed averaged around 350 km/s over the period. The total interplanetary magnetic field abruptly increased from the values near 6nT till 9 nT around 06 UT today and afterwards gradually decrease till the values around 3 nT. Bz component varied between -5 nT and +3 nT.

Quiet geomagnetic conditions were observed most of the time except 00-03 UT today (August 18) of unsettled geomagnetic conditions. Mostly quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected for the next 48 hours with some isolated episodes of unsettled geomagnetic conditions as the result of an irregular shaped negative polarity coronal hole being in geoeffective position.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 21 stations.
