Solar activity was at very low levels. The Sun was spotless. No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CME) were observed during the period. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values.
Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
The solar wind speed gradually decreased from about 400 km/s till 350 km/s over the period. The total interplanetary magnetic field averaged around 4 nT. Bz varied between -2 nT and +2.5 nT.
Quiet geomagnetic conditions were observed. Quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected for the next 48 hours. Isolated periods of unsettled geomagnetic conditions are possible on August 19 due to influence from a negative polarity coronal hole.
