Solar activity was at very low levels. The Sun remained spotless. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have been observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values.
Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
Solar wind speed gradually increased from an initial 380 km/s to 465 km/s around 04:30UT, then declining to 400 km/s by the end of the period (ACE). The direction of the interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was variable, with the positive sector (away from the Sun) dominating. Bz varied between -6 and +5 nT.
Geomagnetic activity was at quiet to unsettled levels and is expected to remain so.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 12 stations.
