Bulletin

X-ray flux remained below B level throughout the period. The Sun is now spotless and no flaring is expected.

No Earth-directed CMEs have been observed in coronagraph data.

The proton flux levels were at background values and expected to remain so.

Solar wind speed decreased from around 420 km/s to around 380 km/s. The total magnetic field was at nominal values around 5nT. The magnetic field phi angle fluctuated somewhat but was mostly in the negative sector. Solar wind conditions are expected to remain nominal until around noon February 5, when some weak effects of a high speed stream from the extension of the (negative polarity) Southern polar coronal hole, may enhance Solar wind speed.

Geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled (local K Dourbes 0-2, NOAA Kp 0-3). Quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected over the next days, then by noon February 5 rising to unsettled conditions with some isolated active periods becoming possible.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 17 stations.
