Only one sunspot group is presently observed on the visible side of the solar disc. The newly emerged, Catania sunspot group 33 was the source of several A class flares during last 24 hours. We expect a low level of flaring activity to persist in the coming hours. During last 24 hours there were no Earth directed CMEs and the solar protons remained at the background level.
The solar wind speed is presently about 315 km/s, and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is 4 nT. One interval of the unsettled geomagnetic conditions was reported by local station at Dourbes (K=3), at about 09 UT today. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet and we expect quiet geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 005, based on 23 stations.
