Bulletin

X-ray flux remained below B level. NOAA active region 2808 (Catania groups 78 and 90) lost its trailing spots while renewed spot formation could be observed in NOAA region 2809. X-ray flux is expected to remain below C level over the next days.

No Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been observed in coronagraph data.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained under the 1000 pfu event threshold. The 24h electron fluence was at normal levels and is expected to be at normal levels today. An increase in electron flux and fluence may be expected over the next days following the enhanced solar wind conditions.

Solar wind displayed the expected increase into a fast Solar wind regime. Solar wind speed increased to current values just short of 600 km/s while total interplanetary magnetic field declined gradually from over 10nT to under 5nT currently. The magnetic field phi angle was indicative of connection to a negative sector (magnetic field directed towards the Sun). Solar wind conditions are expected to remain enhanced over the next 24 hours, then slowly returning to background conditions.

Geomagnetic conditions reached active conditions with a few periods of minor geomagnetic storming (NOAA Kp and local K Dourbes 2-5). Geomagnetic conditions may reach some active periods still in the next 24 hours before returning to quiet to unsettled conditions over the next days.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 021, based on 13 stations.
