Bulletin

Solar flaring activity was at low levels over the past 24 hours. The largest flare observed was an C1.8-class flare, peaking at 23 July 10:02 UT, originating from NOAA AR 3057. Regions have been mostly stable. The flaring activity is expected to be at low levels over the next 24 hours.

No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections were observed.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours. The proton flux is expected to remain at nominal levels for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2MeV electron flux was about the 1000 pfu threshold over the past 24 hours. It is expected be below to about threshold over the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours. It is expected be at nominal to moderate levels over the next 24 hours.

The CME that took place 21 July 01:21UT seems to have arrived about 23 July 02:31UT, when a shock was registered in the solar wind parameters.Over the past 24 hours, the total magnetic field reached the value of 13 nT, while the Bz component decreased to -13 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field phi angle was predominantly on the negative sector (directed towards the Sun). The solar wind speed increased up to 700 km/s. Over the next 24 hours, the combination of HSS influences and CME impact are expected to continue.

Over the past 24 hours, minor storm conditions were registered (NOAA Kp and K Dourbes 5), due to the shock arrival. Over the next 24 hours, quiet to unsettled conditions can be expected, with a small chance of active conditions.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 105, based on 14 stations.
