Solar activity has been at low levels for the past 24 hours. The largest solar event of the period was a C6 event observed at 17/0928Z from Region 3140 (N23W0*). There are currently 5 numbered sunspot regions on the disk.
IB. Solar Activity Forecast
Solar activity is expected to be very low with a chance for a C-class flares and a slight chance for an M-class flare on day one (18 Nov) and expected to be very low with a chance for a C-class flares on days two and three (19 Nov, 20 Nov).
IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 16-2100Z to 17-2100Z
The geomagnetic field has been at quiet levels for the past 24 hours. Solar wind speed reached a peak of 406 km/s at 17/1454Z. Total IMF reached 7 nT at 17/1236Z. The maximum southward component of Bz reached -2 nT at 16/2335Z. Electrons greater than 2 MeV at geosynchronous orbit reached a peak level of 261 pfu.
