Flaring activity was very low. A few rather narrow CMEs were observed in SOHO/LASCO C2 images, but all seem to have no Earth-directed component. One CME (first measurement at 22:24 UT) was related to activity at the West limb, while another one (first measurement at 7:48 UT) was due to an eruption at the East limb. H alpha images indicate that a few filaments, located in the southern hemisphere, are getting unstable and might erupt in the next few days. Flaring at the C-level is possible (chance of 30%). Solar wind speed is in the 400-500 km/s range. The magnitude of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) is between 8 and 13 nT. The quiet to unsettled (K=0 to 3) geomagnetic conditions are expected to continue, with some chance for geomagnetic active levels (K=4).
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 020, based on 15 stations.
