One single C1 flare was observed from Catania sunspot region 74, which is a new region near the East limb at S15. A sequence of small eruptions continued near plage 2351 (N25W60). No Earth-bound CMEs were observed. The chance for C-class flares is increasing.
Earth is inside a slow solar wind (max 340 km/s) with a nominal magnitude of the interplanetary magnetic field (max 10 nT). Geomagnetic conditions are quiet (K <4) and are expected to increase within the next 24 hours to active conditions (K=4) due to the influence of a high speed stream.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 009, based on 16 stations.
