Solar activity is very low, with only few B-class flares reported during last 24 hours. The C-class flares are still possible but not very probable. No Earth directed CMEs were observed in the last 24 hours. Solar wind speed is currently about 500 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 7 nT. Due to the longer interval of the negative value of the Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic field (down to - 7 nT), active geomagnetic conditions were reported early this morning (NOAA reported a Kp =4 and Dourbes reported K=4). Geomagnetic conditions are currently quiet and are expected to remain so in the coming hours.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 036, based on 17 stations.
