Solar activity has been very low, no C-class flares. All five visible ARs have simple magnetic field configuration (beta or alpha). No Earth directed CMEs were detected. Solar activity is expected to remain low over the next 24 hours with possible C-class flares. The Earth is under the influence of a high speed stream from a coronal hole. As a consequence, in the past 24 h active conditions were observed at Dourbes (K = 4) and major storm conditions at planetary levels (Kp = 6). Currrently Solar wind speed is at 630 km/s with magnetic field intensity of 6 nT. Increased geomagnetic activity is expected to persist for the next 48 h.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 068, based on 23 stations.
