Bulletin

Solar activity was at very low levels. The Sun was spotless. No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CME) were observed during the period. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values.

Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.

The solar wind speed remained stable at the values around 450 km/s (ACE). The total interplanetary magnetic field decreased from values near 5 nT to a minimum of 1 nT around 23:30 UT (ACE) before gradually increasing again till 7.3 nT by the end of the period, due to the solar wind stream from the fragmented negative polarity coronal hole which began to traverse the central meridian on 7 August. Bz varied between -4 and +4.3 nT.

Quiet geomagnetic conditions were observed. Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions can be expected over the next 24 hours due to the ongoing influence of the wind stream associated with the negative polarity coronal hole.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 22 stations.
