Two active regions visible on the sun (NOAA ARs 2753 and 2754), both with beta magnetic field configuration. Solar activity has been very low, no flares in the past 24 h. C-Class flares are possible although unlikely.
No Earth directed CMEs in past 24 h. Solar protons have remained at background levels over the past 24 h.
The solar wind speed is at 350 km/s with interplanetary magnetic field magnitude of 3 nT. Geomagnetic conditions have been quiet. The fast solar wind emanating from a small equatorial negative polarity coronal hole might affect Earth today, but its effect will be weak (mostly unsettled conditions expected, with possible isolated active periods).
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 025, based on 15 stations.
