Bulletin

There are presently three numbered sunspot groups observed on the visible side of the Sun, Catania sunspot groups 66, 67 and 68 (NOAA ARs 2797, 2798, 2799). However, the solar flaring activity is low, and only one B-class flare was reported during last 24 hours. In the coming hours we expect occasional B-class flares while C-class flares are possible but not very probable. The filament eruption in the southern hemisphere of the Sun, observed yesterday at about 10 UT was associated with narrow and slow CME (about 90 degrees width and 230 km/s, respectively). We do not expect this CME will arrive to Earth. During last 24 hours no Earth directed CMEs were observed in coronagraph data, and proton flux levels remained at background values.

Earth is still inside a slow solar wind (about 320 km/s) and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is 6 nT. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet and we expect them to stay so in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 033, based on 09 stations.
